Paintings - Beginning, Evolution and Popularity

Painting was the earliest art form which man took interest in. Certain cave paintings done in the prehistoric era in France, Mexico and India bear the testimony of this fact. The sketches made by the prehistoric people in the cave paintings of Bhimbetka and Adamgarh in India are clearly visible even today and the colors applied are fresh and lively. Human disposition has always traversed the surrounding regions like moors, meadows, hills, rivers, seas, skies, clouds, people, animals, birds and so many other things. The colorfulness and the vibrancy of the surroundings inspired man to recreate the magic pf nature on the rocks, caves, walls, canvas, paper, cloths and various other surfaces. To give variety to the paintings created, man used various media like oil colors, water colors, pastel colors, naturally available colors and many more.

Painting art form produced some phenomenal and outstanding artists. Some great painters of all times are Raphael, Leonardo Da Vinci, Mansoor, Michelangelo, Van Gogh, Dali, Pablo Picasso and M. F. Husain. These masters of painting specialized in different styles of paintings. During thousands of years' existence of painting art form, hundreds of different styles of paintings emerged. Though only few of them became hugely popular around the world.

Some of the most popular painting styles or school of paintings are Constructivism, Fauvism, Classicism, Abstract Art, Aboriginal Art, Aestheticism, Art Brut, Art Nouveau, Baroque, Byzantine Art, Cubism, Dada, Dragging, Encaustic, Paintings, Expressionism, Gothic Paintings, Impressionism, Mannerism, Marbling, Minimalism, Modernism, Neoclassicism, Orientalism, Primitivism, Ragging & Stippling, Realism, Spattering, Surrealism, Symbolism, Theorem Paintings And Wood Graining .

Tribal paintings and folk paintings have always had a distinct tinge in them. They have always attracted an art admirer for their simplicity, natural colors and locally existing themes. In India, several tribal and folk painting traditions have existed since very old times.

Buying Paintings for your Home

Buying paintings for your home can be a daunting task. Some are too small, some are too large, some are too crazy, and some are too dull. In essence, there is something for everyone, but some people have a very difficult time finding that "something". My main suggestion would be to only hang up paintings once all of the other decor in your home is finished. You must first set your furniture, curtains, and wall paint before you can attempt to go shopping for art. The main reason for this is that your furniture and wall colors will make or break the paintings you buy. For example, you do not want a painting of a rainbow on a room with purple/red walls, it would completely clash. If possible, you should hang the painting on your wall just to see how it would match before actually purchasing it. This will save you a great deal of time and money.

Purchasing fine wall art or canvas paintings in the internet can be hit or miss. All you really have to go by is a picture until you get the actual painting delivered to your doorstep. Therefore, do your research when buying canvas paintings or other fine wall art online. In the case that you do end up with a painting that you don't want, see if the place will offer an exchange , or get someone else to take it off your hands. In the end, buying canvas paintings or other fine wall art can be a daunting task. There are numerous paintings to choose from, however after diligent research and shopping around, you will be sure to find one you like.
